Whether you are setting up a clothing item for your club/society for individuals to purchase separately or buying in bulk for a club/society, contact us on info@wessexclothing.co.uk or 02380 224622 to discuss the options and confirm a price. Is the order window flexible?
Yes, we will discuss the length of the order window when you set up your items. Items won’t begin to be made until after the agreed order window finishes. Items are unable to be ordered after the order window closes.
Do I need to pay for my order now?
All orders must be paid in full before production can begin.
Can I see a sample before placing a bulk order?
Artwork proofs are available on the online portal. We can also provide an email artwork proof showing the size, colour and positioning against a template as accurately as the web and design process allows.
Due to the set-ups with screen printing and embroidery, samples are very expensive and we do not offer them for these processes. If however, you would like a sample printed using DTG or digital transfer/vinyl, this can be arranged but will be charged at a one-off price.
If you are wary of the quality, visit us to see screen print samples or read our testimonial to provide confidence in our product and service.
What is the quality of the garments like? Can I see a sample?
We have access to hundreds of brands all of which can be viewed on our website. These range from promotional t shirts to professional grade sailing and sports attire. If you’re unsure which to use, our team are here to help.
The Locker merchandise store in Building 42 (Student Union) on the University of Southampton Highfield Campus has a small range of our sample clothing.
What is the sizing of the garments like?
The Wessex Clothing website has size guides for all products; specific size guides are available on the online portal for each item. Sizes are generally in UK chest or leg measurements unless specified. Please note these are a guide and variations do occur within and between production batches. Sample items of some of our stock is available in The Locker in Building 42 on Highfield Campus.
What are the set-up charges?
The agreement between SUSU and Wessex Clothing means there are no set up charges.
How is my order priced?
All clubs and societies receive the same agreed pricing through our preferred supplier arrangement. The pricing is based on the collective buying power of student groups across the Students' Union, helping secure competitive rates for everyone.
This means less time spent comparing suppliers and negotiating prices, allowing committees to focus on running their activities and events. All prices are inclusive of VAT.
I’ve had a cheaper price, can you match it?
Our prices are based on a preferred supplier agreement that uses the combined buying power of clubs and societies across the Students' Union to secure competitive rates for all groups.
If you've received a lower quote, we're happy to review it on a like-for-like basis. We'll need to see the full quotation to compare garment quality, decoration methods, delivery times and any additional charges.
Our focus is on providing great value, quality products and a reliable service, not just the lowest possible price.
How can I reduce the cost of my order?
There are a few ways to keep costs down:
- Choose a lower-cost garment. For example, our hoodies range in price from £10–30 per item, so selecting a more affordable option can make a big difference to the overall cost.
- Keep designs simple. Using fewer colours and smaller print or embroidery areas can reduce production costs. Many designs look just as effective in a single colour. Embroidering on to a fleece is very time consuming even on the best machines and is reflected in the price.
- Use darker prints on lighter garments. Printing dark colours onto light fabrics is often more cost-effective than printing light colours onto dark fabrics.
If you're looking to achieve a particular budget, our team can help recommend the most cost-effective options.
Is there a minimum order quantity?
No. However, the size of the order will generally dictate the style of print used. Screen printing for example has a minimum order quantity depending on the print complexity.
We will of course advise this during the order process and more information on processes can be found in the ‘What we Do’ section of the website. One-off’s will generally be digital or vinyl transfers, DTG or pre-digitised embroidery.
What is your turnaround time?
We aim to have all orders completed and ready for collection within 14 days of the closure of the relevant order window.
If orders are delayed due to circumstances beyond our control, such as stock availability or failed deliveries, we will advise you as soon as possible.
I need my order urgently. Can you help?
It may be possible to process orders more quickly, depending on the job specifics and our onsite capacity.
If your order is urgent, please advise us of this as early in the ordering process as possible and discuss with our sales team. Please note additional charges may apply.
Can I have individual names/numbers?
Yes, the options will be discussed during the initial set up process with your committee member or designated person. We have become a specialist in the industry for individual prints owing to the volume of work we carry out for sports teams, clubs and societies.
All our names and numbers are cad cut from premium flex vinyl or flock and heat-sealed using pneumatic presses ensuring the best possible print.
